Mission & Vision
The Department of Management Studies of IIT Madras has recently set up a “Management Case Study Centre” to serve the needs of B-Schools with contemporary case studies.
Long-term Vision
To develop an independent Management Case Study Centre that will serve the needs of B-Schools with contemporary case studies that will enhance the learning of students, across all management disciplines (functional areas); to be a repository of management case studies developed in India as well as in other geographies.
Mission & Objectives
- Instill a culture of developing case studies focusing on Indian and International companies.
- Enhance relationships with Indian and Global Industry to develop contextual case studies.
- Set up a repository for accessible case studies.
- Collaborate with leading B-Schools in India and abroad.
- Collaborate with other International case study centers.

Case Quest
Pan India Competition
The Management Case Study Centre (MCSC), Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Madras, successfully organized Case Quest, a pan India case study writing competition, on 9–10 October 2025 at the IIT Madras campus.
Case Quest is a flagship initiative of MCSC designed to promote case-based teaching and learning in management education. The competition invites faculty, researchers, and students from academic institutions across India along with industry representative to develop original case studies based on real-life business and management scenarios.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from institutions across the country. Shortlisted cases were presented before an expert panel comprising distinguished academicians and industry professionals.

The first prize was sponsored by SAGE Publications, which also served as the academic partner for Case Quest 2025. The top-winning case will have the opportunity to be considered for publication with SAGE, following their editorial review and publication process.
The event served as a vibrant platform for sharing innovative teaching cases and fostering collaboration among management educators. Through Case Quest, DoMS continues its commitment to enriching management education and advancing case-based pedagogy in India.
