Professor Ashok Srinivasan, Associate Professor, Clinical Data Sciences and Operations, USC Marshall School of Business visited the department and gave a research lecture on the topic ‘Operations Management in Multi-agent Settings’ on 28th of September 2016. Research scholars and the faculty of DoMS were the primary audience for the talk. There was an interaction session between the students of DoMS and the Professor which followed his lecture. Adding further, he has also planned to offer a full time course on the topic Operations Management in Multi-agent Settings’ for the research scholars and the MBA students of DoMS in the upcoming Oct-Nov quarter. The main objective of the course is to extend the theme of operations management of matching supply with demand to multi-agent settings, and focuses on recent advances in this area. Some of the major topics which will be covered in the course are Double marginalization, Game theoretic models in operations management information issues, Competition and Cooperation in serial supply chain networks, Vertical Integration, Cooperation, and Contract Leadership.
About the speaker
Professor Ashok Srinivasan holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the university of Madras, he did his MBA from the university of Delhi, further he went on to get his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University, USA. His research interests include supply-chain management, non-profit management, and productivity analysis. His research has appeared in Management Science, Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, and other esteemed journals.
