Decision Engineering & Pricing (DEEP) Lab

Matching demand with supply is one of the critical goals of modern firms. The complexity of efficiently achieving the goal is becoming enormously challenging in an uncertain, ambiguous, and multiagent business environment. Decision Engineering & Pricing (DEEP) Lab at IIT Madras specializes in engineering the best decisions using the wisdom from optimization, game theory & mechanism design, and pricing. Engineering of decisions has become a vibrant research area challenging the traditional tools in modern management.

DEEP Lab: Updates

  • New Course: A new course, Operations Forensics, is designed and offered for techMBA, MBA students, and research scholars. (Download Course Outline)
  • New Course: A new course, Digital Operations and Technology, is designed and offered for MBA students and research scholars. (Download Course Outline)
  • Editorial Role: I have joined as the Editor of the Journal "International Journal of Revenue Management".
  • Paper Accepted: Paper titled "Wholesale Price versus Buyback: A Comparison of Contracts in a Supply Chain with a Behavioral Retailer", coauthored with Dr B. Vipin accepted for publication in Computers & Industrial Engineering.
  • Media Coverage: Our research on lead acid battery recycling received media coverage:
    • IIT researchers study policy tools to reduce lead pollution (The Hindu, September 7, 2021)
    • IITs look to cut lead pollution via policy changes (The Times of India, September 7, 2021)
  • Student Achievement: Ph.D. Student Dhandabani S. selected as the recipient for the 2021 Ken Wang scholars program of AGIFORS for his research on air-cargo revenue management.
