Management Case Study Centre
The Department of Management Studies of IIT Madras has recently set up a “Management Case Study Centre” to serve the needs of B-Schools with contemporary case studies to enhance the learning of management students.
Long-term Vision
To develop an independent Management Case Study Centre that will serve the needs of B-Schools with contemporary case studies that will enhance the learning of students, across all management disciplines (functional areas); to be a repository of management case studies developed in India as well as in other geographies.
Mission & Objectives
- To instill a culture of developing case studies focusing on Indian and International companies - enabling academia to relate management concepts to their growth-story
- To enhance relationships and interaction with the Indian and Global Industry with a view to developing contemporary and contextual case studies
- To set up a repository for accessible case studies
- To collaborate with leading B-Schools in India and abroad to develop case studies
- To collaborate with other International case study centres
Composition of MCSC’s Executive Committee
Based on initial discussions within DoMS, the composition of the Executive committee proposed is as follows:

Types of Cases and Sectoral Focus
Broadly the cases may be grouped as :
- Multi-functional area case studies developed in collaboration with a Company
- Single functional area case studies developed in collaboration with a Company
- Case studies and caselets based entirely on published material
The case studies to be developed at the centre will initially focus on companies: Large Indian/Multinational companies, Indian MSME companies, Indian Start-ups
